About Aqafood

Aqafood Limited was established in 2004 to create a large-scale Australian seafood business capable of supplying Australian shell and finfish for the global market.

The company is undertaking a major consolidation of Australia’s mostly family-owned fish farm enterprises into a vertically integrated business embracing the entire seafood supply and value chain.

It’s a dynamic approach that involves rapid expansion through a strategy of acquisition and organic growth.

Australia’s pristine coastal regions and environmental conditions offer a unique advantage to produce seafood of the highest quality. Australia also has a highly government and industry regulated seafood sector that protects the integrity of the product.

Aqa Oysters Limited

The Group’s oyster subsidiary, Aqa Oysters Ltd, completed the purchase of eight successful South Australian and two Tasmanian oyster farms in June 2007.  In South Australia, our farms are located in the best growing areas along the pristine and rugged coastline of Eyre Peninsula. We have farms at Coffin Bay, Ceduna, Cowell, Streaky Bay and Smoky Bay.  We also own two of Tasmania’s largest farms, Tasmanian Pitt Water Oysters near Hobart and Lease 65 Moulting Bay Oysters at St Helens, on the north-east coast.

At Aqa Oysters we let our oysters grow to their full potential, which means they are not harvested until they are plump, tasty and succulent. For premium oyster quality is paramount – and Aqa Oysters delivers every time.  It’s what we refer to as the Aqa Oysters Advantage.
Aqa Fresher

As part of its value-add program, Aqafood is investing in a new state-of-the-art EU accredited export facility at its Wingfield plant in Adelaide. The facility will have cutting edge technology and equipment, including a high-pressure shucking and processing system, the only one of its type in commercial use in Australia.

Seafood Logistics

Seafood Logistics was acquired by Aqafood in January 2007 and is responsible for managing the company’s sales and distribution. It is a specialist in ocean-to-plate cold chain management.
Aqafood advantage

The Aqafood advantage is the ability to source seafood from our own farms in many regions around Australia. This provides our customers with a consistent supply of premium quality seafood, year round, with a variety which can be selected to suit your needs.
